2003 Colin Edwards Replica Aprilia RSV Mille R #171 with just under 42k miles, fresh 12 Month MOT as of 22/07/2026 with no advisories.

bought  back in August 2022 as a project from a friend as a Cat D due to a low side drop from its previous owner who had owned the bike for a long time. The only damage was scratches to the bodywork, a few marks on the front wheel, fork leg and exhaust (I have photo’s of the bike after the low side to prove).

Since then the Bikes been fully restored which took nearly 2 years due to work commitments and other projects. Stripped the bike down and took the motor out of the frame and then sent the bike to Andy Dondew at Wickford Superbikes who knows these RSV’s like the back of his hand and he put everything back together for me and did a lot of the maintenance work to get her running and back on the road.  I have a full list of the works done by Andy.

Below is the work done on the bike:

·       Rolling Frame sent to Motor Liners in Kent who confirmed the frame was straight and undamaged

·       Full engine out to clean the frame, swing arm

·       Another set of excellent condition used forks to replace the damaged ones (fully serviced and rebuilt by Griff at AP Workshops)

·       Rear Shock and Forks and steering damper rebuilt with anything needing replacing done and all serviced (Griff did the front forks for me)

·       Engine fully serviced with fresh oil, new air and oil filters, valve clearances checked (all were well within tolerance)

·       All bodywork freshly painted by dream machine and any broken or damaged panels replaced

·       The wheels that came with the bike were previously painted gold so another set of genuine 03 serial numbered blue Edwards wheels were sourced and fitted with brand new wheel bearings

·       New Michelin Power 4 tyres (done a few hundred miles)

·       New OEM clutch and brake reservoirs (originals were tatty)

·       Oberon clutch Slave

.       New Battery

·       New discs and pads and venhill braided lines

·       Even though only one can had some scratches, another genuine genuine Aprilia Akrapovic system was sourced

·       Upgraded battery cables

·       Fuel pump serviced with new ethanol resistant hoses

There could be more but without looking at the list of work that's been done I can't remember it all.

Since putting the bike together I took the bike to Griff at AP Workshops in Tamworth, he gave it a once over for me and it has the Griff seal of approval.  Griff did a lot of the servicing on this bike when the previous owner had it and can vouch for its maintenance over the years.  I have some receipts for some services also. The only thing that gives the mileage away is the headlight.  I didn’t replace it because I didn’t want to be scared to use it, and it shows its history.

I have documented every step in photographs and also I have invoices for work that has been done by Griff and Andy as well as some receipts for parts I have bought myself too.

The bike is in excellent condition, yes there are some marks here and there as she is a 23 year old bike but with all the work done, she’s lovely.

2 keys, original handbook, roadside assistance book but no service book (Griff can vouch for the service and maintenance on the bike).  I have previous MOTs going back to it’s first MOT in 2006 to prove mileage.

It runs and rides so well, I took it for it’s MOT on 22/07/2026 and it just surprises me every time I go to ride it how good they actually are.

The 2003 Aprilia RSV 1000 R Mille Colin Edwards Replica is one of the most desirable first-generation RSV Milles. It was built to celebrate Colin Edwards joining Aprilia’s MotoGP effort after his epic 2002 World Superbike title. Production was limited to 461 motorcycles worldwide, making it a sought-after modern classic.
