The 2023 BMW M 1000 R Competition is essentially a superbike without the clip-ons. BMW took much of the M 1000 RR’s engine and electronics, then gave it upright ergonomics for fast road riding.

The carbon wheels make a noticeable difference by reducing unsprung and rotational mass, helping the bike change direction more quickly.
Riding character
Unlike many litre-class nakeds, the M 1000 R feels incredibly refined. It can cruise comfortably on the road, but open the throttle above 8,000 rpm and it becomes ferociously quick. The electronics are among the best available and inspire confidence without feeling intrusive.
